Coeur de France à Vélo (V46) en Loir-et-Cher
The Coeur de France à Vélo route (V46) links Tours to Montluçon, via Vierzon and Bourges. In Loir-et-Cher, it starts at the gates of Chissay-en-Touraine and runs to Mennetou-sur-Cher, following the Cher and then the Canal de Berry, offering a safe, family-friendly route.
Between chateaux, picturesque villages and bucolic landscapes, the 74-km route in the Loir-et-Cher region follows shared greenways, inviting you to slow down your pace. Departing from Château de Chenonceau (just before Chissay-en-Touraine), which spans the Cher river, the town of Montrichard (with its cobbled streets, keep and beach) is your next stop; then Saint-Aignan and its famous Beauval ZooPark, Chatillon-sur-Cher and its canal bridge, Selles-sur-Cher, famous for its AOP Selles-sur-Cher cheese, Gièvres and Villefranche-sur-Cher before reaching Mennetou-sur-Cher, a fortified medieval town that still boasts a rare 19th? century wooden drawbridge.
