Base VTT sud du Perche - Sur les traces des Templiers C1
Starting from Couëtron-au-Perche (Arville), Le Plessis-Dorin or Le Gault du Perche, this 41 km itinerary can be done on foot, mountain bike or horseback. It offers you a vast hike in the Perche region, where natural and historical heritage have been intertwined for centuries.
This is a magnificent route through the rolling, wooded hills of the Perche region, inhabited since ancient times. In Arville, 700 years after their disappearance, the imprint of the Templars can still be seen in the Commanderie founded in the 12th century, which today recounts the epic story of the Order of the Temple. In Le Plessis-Dorin, there are traces of a "motte gauloise" and of the "chemin de César", an ancient Roman road that ran through the village. The church of St-Jean-Baptiste houses a stone baptismal font and a statue of Sainte-Apolline. Enjoy the magnificent Boisvinet pond, where fishing has been practiced since the 15th century, and the panoramic view from the Bois du Prieur. At Le Gault-du-Perche, drive through the authentic Percheron hamlet of de la Rougerie.
