The Templar Commandery of Arville, a high point of the territory's built and medieval heritage, is the central element of this mountain bike loop through the natural environment of the Percheron hills and bocage.
This hike offers you an immersion in the valley of the Couëtron, through the hilly landscape, composed of steep paths, sunken roads and hedged farmland, typical of the Perche.
The itinerary in relief winds in the valley of the Couëtron that you cross by ford and footbridge, borrows an old Roman way and offers you an incomparable point of view on the Commanderie d'Arville that you can admire on the last part of the circuit. This site, remarkably preserved, was founded in the 12th century by the Templar order.
It was both a recruitment and military training center for the monks-knights of the order, and an important place of production and economic activity, financing the military activities (crusades) carried out in the Holy Land.
