Between Sologne and Touraine, the delegated municipality of Thenay (Le Controis-en-Sologne) invites you to this 8 km loop starting from the municipal pond of Roger. Crossed by the Beugnon and located on a plateau, this territory of the "Val de Cher Controis" reveals its landscape heritage.
To the south of Thenay, this route offers a walk on flat ground, revealing natural wooded or rural areas, and areas suitable for market gardening or wine-growing
The starting point of the circuit, the pond of Roger is a vast body of water of 5 ha, suitable for relaxation and fishing.
In the heart of the village, stop to admire the fully restored dovecote. This massive and truncated tower is a dovecote known as "à pied", originally equipped with 950 boulins.
Another major heritage element not to be missed is the altarpiece of the Epiphany in the Gothic church of Notre-Dame. It is a polychrome wooden triptych, made in Antwerp in the early 16th century. It is the oldest religious object, classified as a Historic Monument in the department.
