Circuit des bords de Loire
On the banks of the Loire, at the gates of the Château de Chambord, Saint-Claude-de-Diray will charm you in many ways. Natural heritage, gastronomy, small heritage... The town is not lacking in attractions!
Gastronomy plays an important part in the identity of Saint-Claude-de-Diray: yam cultivation, the emblematic vegetable of the commune, asparagus and viticulture. As soon as you leave the village you will pass by vineyards which belong to the production area of the AOC Cheverny. Then you will arrive on the banks of the Loire, from where you can admire the castle of Ménars, located on the other bank. On the way back to the village, you will pass by the hamlet of Nozieux, where you will find the remains of the castle which was for 4 years the property of the Marquise de Pompadour. Along the way you may see some wells, which are numerous in the village. There are about forty of them. Before leaving push the doors of the church of Saint-Claude and discover the baptismal font of the 17th century
