La vallée du Loir... en attelage, troglodytes et patrimoine
Discover this magnificent 52 km signposted equestrian circuit in the heart of the Loir Valley. On horseback or in a carriage, set off over 3 days to discover an exceptional authentic heritage: troglodyte villages, churches, Ronsard?s birthplace, Lavardin castle?
Set off on an adventure from one of 3 starting points (the silo at Trôo, the Hayes chasm and the Isle verte at Couture/Loir). The route takes you to the unusual village of Trôo, where you'll discover houses carved out of the rock overlooking the Loir, as well as other sites such as the petrifying grotto and the Yuccas cellar.
In Couture/Loir, you'll fall under the spell of Ronsard's 16th-century birthplace. Take in historic sites such as Saint-Martin church and Saint-Georges abbey in Saint-Martin-des-Bois.
You should also stop off at Lavardin, France?s most beautiful village, where you can admire the Gothic bridge over the Loir and visit the remains of the fortified castle on a rocky promontory overlooking the Loir.
